Auf den folgenden Seiten sind einige Forschungsarbeiten
snd Projekte aufgezeigt, die das Institut für leichte
“lachentragwerke (IL) zum Teil in Zusammenarbeit mit
anderen Instituten , Büros und dem Atelier Frei Otto
durchgeführt hat.
Jm den momentanen Aufgabenbereich etwas näher zu
smreiflen, sind noch Arbeiten zu erwähnen wie:
Aufwandsuntersuchungen an druckbeanspruchten Konstruktionen,
Intwicklung von Mabelsystemen,
*ormbestimmung von pneumatischen Konstruktionen,
Aufbau eines Archivs für den Leichtbau,
Studienarbeiten von Studenten verschiedener Fach--ichtungen.
Zin besonderes Interesse liegt noch bei dem Thema
3iologie und Technik, zu dem das Institut jährlich
ainen Fotowettbewerb ausschreibt.
Über diese Arbeiten, sowie Aufgaben und Ergebnisse
anderer Institute, die auf einem ähnlichen Gebiet
arbeiten, wird die begonnene Schriftenreihe IL
serichten.

The following pages show various research works and
srojects which the Institute for Lightweight Structures
(IL) has carried out, partly in collaboration with other
institutes, bureaus and the atelier Frei Otto.
n order to outline the present functions, the following
works must be mentioned additionally:
investigation of expenditures on compression structures,
Determination of form of pneumatic constructions,
Development of furniture systems,
Arrangement and classification of constructions,
Set-up of archives for lightweight structures,
Studies of students of architecture and civil engineering
n addtion, the subject "biology and technic’is of
pecial interest. In this commention, the IL invites
annually to a photographic contest.
These works, as well as functions and results of other
nstitutes, working on similar fields, will be covered
n the next numbers of the IL publications.

Der Versuchsbau fur den deutschen Pavillon in Montreal
eine Seilnetzkonstruktion, wurde permanent eingedeckt
ynd zu einem Großrauminstitut für das IL ausgebaut

at the University of Stuttgart.
The test building for the German Pavilion in Montreal,
3 cable net construction, has been re-erected as a
sermanent large-area institute to house the IL.
